Christine Larsen-Romney, President & Chief Executive Officer
Christine has been billing for midwives for over a decade. She is passionate about midwifery and is so grateful that LBS is in a position to help so many midwives throughout the country. She lives in Layton, UT with her husband, Scott, and a blended family of 5 children; her youngest child was born at home. Christine enjoys an active lifestyle that includes exercising, hiking, traveling, good nutrition (she loves green smoothies), running, reading, camping, bicycling, and playing with her family.

Beth Decker, Chief Operating Officer, Information and Technology Manager
Beth lives in a sleepy community at the bottom of Mt. Rainier near Seattle, WA. She and her husband have 3 teenage daughters and 1 Lego-obsessed son. She has recently sent her oldest to college, gotten another new driver in the house, and teaches home-school part-time to one of her children. She loves to learn new things and enjoys teaching art appreciation classes in her children’s public school classrooms. Beth’s hobbies include reading, cooking, and an addiction to the Food-Network.

Nicole Wocelka, Chief Relations Officer, Contractor Relations Manager
Nicole has eight years of experience in Maternal Child Healthcare Management and has attended over 200 births in homes, birth centers and hospitals as a doula. Nicole and her husband are novice modern homesteaders, living in Wisconsin with one dog, three cats, five chickens, and 90,000 honeybees.

Arden Hammel, Finance Manager
Arden began her career with LBS in 2010. She lives with her husband, Jon, and son, Dillon, in Maquoketa, IA. Arden attended the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!!) and has over 15 years of experience in finance and business management. In her spare time, Arden enjoys running, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Chellie Phillips, Research & Development Manager, Credentialing Manager
Chellie has been in the medical industry since 1995. She started working at insurance companies in the claims department for 9 years, and then moved to LBS in 2005. Chellie is the mother of 4 children and lives in Utah. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, baking and performing in the local theaters.

Diane Harston, Client Relations Manager
Diane and her husband, Glen, are the proud parents of nine wonderful children who, in turn, are now doing their part to add to the family tree. Grandchildren will be the next fun-filled adventure in Diane’s life! She has been a part of the LBS team since October 2007. Diane enjoys hiking in the beautiful backcountry of her beloved Washington State, volunteering in her community, working in her yard and trying new recipes.

Julie Packer, Claims Department Manager
Julie has been with LBS since 2008. She lives on a small cattle ranch in Enumclaw, WA, a small community at the base of Mt Rainier. She has 6 children ranging in ages from 12 to 24 and one grandson. She recently sent her middle child off to college and now has only two boys at home. She and her husband own a freight forwarding and customs brokerage business with offices in Seattle and San Francisco. Julie enjoys being outdoors, hiking, water skiing, gardening and watching her sons play basketball and golf.

Kim Spooner, Claims Department Manager
Kim has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern Oregon University. She currently resides in Beaverton, Oregon with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, reading and going to the gym.

Shyela Chapman, Benefits Manager
Shy is a Certified Medical Assistant and worked in a medical clinic prior to coming to LBS. She received her CMA and Associates of Arts from Umpqua Community College. She is currently attending Southern Oregon University and is working towards a Bachelor in Business Administration/Management. Shy was born at home by a midwife, and attended the birth of her 3 other siblings. She lives in Grants Pass, Oregon with her husband and two beautiful children. Shyela enjoys spending time with her family and friends, writing poetry, working out, cooking, and all crafts.
